It is only by asking for help and admitting one’s weaknesses and sins can God’s power be effective. Humility is therefore the most essential characteristic of a devotee.

Obedience, fear, reverence, patience, modesty, meekness, and peace all stem from humility. A person who is humble is able to obey everyone easily, is not irritated by anyone, lives in peace with others, and is kind to everyone. He does his duty, makes his full effort but consider the result as a will of God. He is totally dependent on God for everything & keeps no strength of himself. That’s why he receive divine #grace and protection.
आज्ञा पालन, भय, श्रद्धा, धैर्य, विनम्रता, नम्रता और शांति ये सभी दीनता से उत्पन्न होते हैं। जो व्यक्ति जितना दीन होता है वह उतना आसानी से सबकी आज्ञा मान लेता है, किसी से परेशान या चिढ़ता नहीं, दूसरों के साथ शांति से रहता है और सबके प्रति दयालु होता है। वह अपना कर्तव्य करता है, पूरा प्रयास करता है पर परिणाम को भगवद् इच्छा मानकर स्वीकार करता है। वह पूरी तरह से भगवद् आश्रित रहता है और खुद की कोई ताकत नहीं रखता। इसलिए वह ईश्वरीय #कृपा और रक्षा का पात्र होता है।

० Consider yourself to be the smallest;
० Do not be proud;
० Do not see anyone’s faults;

God loves you very much and loves you tenderly; and if He does not let you experience the sweetness of His love, it is to make you more humble and lowly in your own eyes. Humility makes one worthy of God’s love.
भगवान आपसे बहुत प्रेम करते हैं, उनकी आपसे विशेष प्रियता है; और यदि वह आपको अपने प्रेम की मिठास का अनुभव नहीं कराते, तो यह आपको आपकी ही नज़रों में अधिक विनम्र और दीन बनाने के लिए है। दीनता हमें भगवद्ग प्रेम के योग्य बनाती है।

The Poor are the one who really know how it feels to have nothing, to ask for something and to have faith in God for everything. These are those who recognize their spiritual need and dependence on God. Their humanity is reflected in their empathy and generosity. Only they receive God’s grace.
We are all poor, we are nothing. The question is how much do we realize our wretchedness!
गरीब लोग ही वास्तव में जानते हैं कि गरीबी क्या होती है, कुछ माँगने पर कैसा लगता है और भगवान पर पूर्ण विश्वास क्या होता है। ये वे लोग हैं जो अपनी आध्यात्मिक आवश्यकता और परमेश्वर पर निर्भरता को पहचानते हैं। उनकी मानवता उनकी सहानुभूति और उदारता में दिखती है। उन्हें ही ईश्वर की कृपा प्राप्त होती है।
हम सभी गरीब हैं, हम कुछ भी नहीं। सवाल यह है कि हम अपनी दरिद्रता को कितना समझते हैं!

How many simple and illiterate people there have been who, in spite of being unable to read, loved God and found Him! And how many learned men of this world remain cursed! So it is the former who were truly wise, not the latter. Cleverness ruins, wise drowns and innocent people find God.

Spirituality is like climbing stairs. You go down when you think ‘I am loved because I am worthy’ or ‘I am not loved because I am unworthy.’ Going up is thinking: ‘I am unworthy, yet I am loved’… This is the truth.
आध्यात्म सीढ़ी चढ़ने जैसा है। आप नीचे ज़ाते हैं जब आप सोचते हैं कि ‘मुझे प्रेम मिलता हैं क्योंकि मैं योग्य हूँ’ या ‘मुझे प्रेम नहीं मिलता क्योंकि मैं अयोग्य हूँ।’ ऊपर जाना सोचना है कि: ‘मैं अयोग्य हूँ फिर भी मुझे प्रेम मिलता है’… यह ही सत्य है।

It is important to be humble before everyone and view ourselves as the worst. The reason we didn’t commit the same sins as others is probably because we weren’t given the chance – the circumstances and conditions were different. We tend to focus on the negative aspects of people instead of the positive, and this is a clear sign of pride.
हमें सबके सामने स्वयं को दीन रखना चाहिए और स्वयं को सबसे बुरा मानना चाहिए। अगर हमने वो पाप नहीं किए जो दूसरों ने किए हैं, तो शायद इसका कारण यह है कि हमें अवसर नहीं मिला – परिस्थितियाँ और हालात अलग थे। हर व्यक्ति में कुछ अच्छा और कुछ बुरा होता है; हम आम तौर पर लोगों में सिर्फ़ बुराइयाँ ही देखते हैं और अच्छाई कुछ भी नहीं देखते; और यह अहंकार का स्पष्ट संकेत है

He who has even a little pride that he can overcome his faults cannot take the support of God. As long as a man thinks that he is strong, he keeps getting defeated. When he completely humbles himself, he is Helped.
जिसे यह किंचित मात्र भी अभिमान है कि वह अपने दोषों पर विजय पा सकता है, वह ईश्वर का सहारा नहीं ले सकता। जब तक मनुष्य यह सोचता है कि वह बलवान है, तब तक वह पराजित होता रहता है। जब पूरी तरह दीनता आती है, तब सहायता आती है।

Don’t be disheartened or discouraged. God sometimes does not remove difficulty or defect from even those who are devoted to Him; and this is so to remove the greatest defect of pride. Your difficulty or defect will be removed, just never loose faith and you will live your life in happiness & humility thereafter. Difficulties and Defects bring you closer to God, always remember them to remain humble.
हताश या निराश मत होइए। भागवान कभी-कभी अपने प्रति समर्पित लोगों को भी समस्या या दोष से नहीं निकालते; और ऐसा इसलिए होता है ताकि वे सबसे बड़े दोष अहंकार को निकाल सकें। आपकी समस्याएं और दोष दूर हो जाएगे, बस आप कभी विश्वास मत खोयें और उसके उपरांत आप अपना जीवन प्रसन्न्ता एवं दीनता में बिताएँगे। समस्याएं और दोष हमें भगवान के करीब लाते हैं, दीनता रखने के लिए हमेशा उन्हें याद रखें।

A person of humility never behaves like a teacher; he listens, and whenever his opinion is asked, he responds humbly. In other words, he responds like a student. A person who believes that he is capable of correcting others is full of ego.

Have complete trust in God, leave everything in His hands and believe that His love will work in your favor. Then God will take care of everything, because there is nothing He cannot do; everything is easy for Him. The most difficult thing for man is to humble himself and leave everything to the grace and love of God.

Anyone who asks God for humility & grace should be aware of what they are asking for, that is to say, God sends someone to mistreat him or some difficulty to face. Adversity bring us closer to God.
जो कोई भी भगवान से दीनता और कृपा मांगता है, उसे पता होना चाहिए कि वे क्या मांग रहा है, यानी, भगवान किसी को उसके साथ दुर्व्यवहार करने या किसी कठिनाई का सामना करने के लिए भेजे। विपत्तियाँ हमें भगवान के करीब लाती हैं।

If a person does not consider himself a sinner, then God does not listen to his prayers. A devotee asked the Saint, “Who is a sinner?” So the Saint said, “One who does not think of his own sins and thinks of the sins of his companions.”
यदि कोई मनुष्य अपने आप को पापी नहीं मानता, तो उसकी प्रार्थना परमेश्वर नहीं सुनते। एक साधक ने संत से प्रश्न किया, “पापी कौन है?” तो संत बोले, “जो कोई अपने पापों को नहीं सोचता और अपने साथियों के पापों पर विचार करता है।”

We will not be able to know our darkness and humble ourselves before God unless we are broken by temptation and suffering.
हम तब तक अपनी कमज़ोरियों को नहीं जान पाएंगे और ईश्वर के सामने खुद को दीन हीन नहीं कर पाएंगे जब तक हम विकारों और दुःखों से टूट नहीं जाते।

Only by accepting our faults in humility, we can experience Divinity.
दीनतापूर्वक अपने दोषों को स्वीकार करने पर ही हम दिव्यता का अनुभव कर सकते हैं।
मो सम कौन कुटिल खल कामी।
जेहिं तनु दियौ ताहिं बिसरायौ, ऐसौ नमकहरामी॥
भरि भरि उदर विषय कों धावौं, जैसे सूकर ग्रामी।
हरिजन छांड़ि हरी-विमुखन की निसदिन करत गुलामी॥
पापी कौन बड़ो है मोतें, सब पतितन में नामी।
सूर, पतित कों ठौर कहां है, सुनिए श्रीपति स्वामी॥

सब हैं भगवान के, संसार है भगवान का। अपने को बढ़ाना है लोगों को दबाना, आसक्ति बढ़ाना है चीजों को चुराना।
दूसरे को दुख देना है सबसे बड़ा पाप, बिना पश्चाताप है हर जीवन अभिशाप। कृपा से ही हैं कटते सारे पाप, अकृपा से हैं होते सब संताप।
प्रभु प्रेम में ही है पूर्णता फिर भी ऐ मूढ़ मन इधर उधर क्या ढूँढता?
Everything belongs to God, the world belongs to God. To enhance oneself is to suppress othes, to greed is to steal.
To give pain to others is the biggest sin, without repentance, no life is a win. All sins are forgiven by grace, all sufferings happen due to lack of grace.
Perfection is only in God’s love, still oh foolish mind, what are you looking for here and there?
Until we are tired, broken by our faults and sorrows, we do not understand our pitiable condition and do not feel humble before God. God love us immensely, His shelter is the only solution.
जब तक हम थक नहीं जाते, अपने दोषों और दुखों से टूट नहीं जाते, तब तक अपनी दयनीय स्थिति समझ में नहीं आती और ईश्वर के आगे दीनता नहीं आती। ईश्वर हमें बेहद प्रेम करता है, उसका आश्रय ही एक मात्र उपाय है।
